Program Descriptions

Gi Jiu-Jitsu Adult (14 +)

Designed to provide students with a solid base in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through theories, techniques, and principles. Our classes incorporate both fundamentals and drills designed to show students how to use the fluidity of movement, transitions, and offensive/defensive strategies to improve their game.  You can equate these maneuvers to a form of kinetic chess where a submission hold is the equivalent of checkmate.

Kids Jiu-Jitsu (7-14)

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Youth program will help build self-confidence, respect, courage, discipline, sportsmanship, concentration, and coordination. The techniques taught will show students how to defend themselves through the use of leverage and angles. Our instructors teach effective self-defense while making each class challenging, technical and fun. Through martial arts your child will develop skills that will last him/her a lifetime.

No Gi Jiu-Jitsu (14 +)

Our No Gi Jiu-Jitsu program focuses on learning and applying the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the traditional gi (kimono).  Also known as “Submission Wrestling” this program is often the base for students preparing to compete in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Our No Gi program is a mix of BJJ, Freestyle Wrestling, Greco Roman Wrestling, as well as some Japanese styles.

Kickboxing (14 +)

Based on a Dutch style of kickboxing, our programs are highly technique based. Classes are strongly focused on establishing foundational skills and conditioning. Open to both competitive and non-competitive students, our kickboxing program is approachable at any fitness level and promises to provide a full body workout!

MMA

Only available to members who are enrolled in both the grappling and kickboxing membership. This class will help students connect the various styles including Jiu-Jitsu, kick boxing and wrestling while focusing on transitions, strategy, fight IQ and self-defense.  This class will help students combine and improve their striking and groundwork.

Wrestling (14 +)

Representing one of the oldest forms of combat, our wrestling program includes techniques from both
Greco Roman and Freestyle Wrestling, hybridized for modern BJJ, Grappling and MMA. Wrestling is an essential feature in modern Grappling. The goal of wrestling is to take-down one’s opponent while maintaining control with the intention to immobilize or pin. Our program teaches tradition wrestling take-downs and mat wrestling while focusing on its use in MMA/BJJ. Students will be shown various techniques including shots, trips and throws all while being conscious of available chokes, joint-locks and strikes.
